Jefferson City
RealCare Parenting Program
This project uses infant simulators to provide high school students with a realistic experience and perspective of the responsibilities of caring for an infant. The students are exposed to real situations that can be very stressful and can help them to understand such situations can lead to abuse and neglect if a parent is not emotionally or physically prepared to cope with the needs of an infant. The project aims to help high school students delay pregnancy through education, but also teaches appropriate coping skills for those students who may already be pregnant or parenting.
