Investing In Our Families
Prevention model: Secondary – Parent Support and Education
The Investing in Our Families Project is a nurturing, coordinated care services program incorporating the Strengthening Families Framework Protective Factors in working with high-risk families with children ages 0-6. Partnering agencies are trained on the protective factors through either the Strong Parents, Stable Children Curriculum or the National Alliance of the Children’s Trust and Prevention Fund’s Bringing the Protective Factors to Life in Your Work on-line training. Parent Cafés are used to engage families and promote parent leadership. The program works with existing community partnerships, Responsible Fatherhood Systems of Care and Focus on Fatherhood Networks in Boone, Cole, Pettis, Randolph, and Saline counties.
