Using the Healthy Families America (HFA) home visiting model, Whole Kids Outreach (WKO) will serve up to eighty additional at-risk families. WKO targets pregnant women and teens, parent, infants and children up to three years of age who have risk factors including domestic violence, poverty, social isolation, insufficient access to medical care and others. HFA is an evidence-based voluntary home visiting program that is family-centered, culturally sensitive, strengths-based and proven to effectively promote healthy child development and preventing child abuse and neglect. Service area includes the counties of Butler, Carter, Iron, Reynolds, Shannon, Wayne.

Whole Kids Outreach will use the Healthy Families America (HFA) home-visiting model to deliver services to serve impoverished pregnant women and teens, parents, infants and children residing in the remote, rural areas of southeast Missouri. The goals of HFA include reducing child abuse and neglect, improving parent-child interactions, improving the social-emotional wellbeing of children and promoting school readiness
