      As Missouri’s foundation for child abuse prevention, the Children’s Trust Fund’s (CTF’s) primary responsibility is to provide grants to community-based agencies and organizations throughout the state that focus on strengthening families and preventing child maltreatment.

      CTF believes in the preventative outcomes consistently demonstrated by high-quality, evidence-based home visiting services. Such services have consistently resulted in positive effects on children’s health, safety, and educational outcomes.

Babies cry — it’s how they communicate with us that they are sleepy, hungry, uncomfortable or stressed. Sometimes babies cry for no apparent reason at all. This is not only okay, it is normal. Learn more about how to stay calm when your baby cries from our Countdown to Calm materials.

Per State Statute 191.748 RSMo, every Missouri hospital and health care facility that provides obstetrical services must offer to view a video (such as Countdown to Calm) to new parents about the prevention of Abusive Head Trauma.
