Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Systems Initiative
The Children’s Trust Fund is excited to partner with the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse (MO-NACA), the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) and the Metropolitan Organization Countering Sexual Assault (MOCSA) to address problematic sexual behavior among youth in Missouri.
Studies show that up to 70% of child sexual abuse is initiated by another child (Darkness to Light); yet, there are few supports and systems available to address this gap. Through this initiative, CTF hopes to:
- Codify standards of care for child welfare and clinicians
- Establish ongoing training for child welfare and clinicians
- Open a network of treatment programs that provide statewide coverage for various age groups and severities
- Establish a systematic referral process to services that coordinate with processes used by local programs
The following agencies and programs currently receive Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) funding for the launch of a statewide initiative to address the issue of youth with problematic sexual behavior (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027):
