Discretionary Grants
CTF Discretionary Funding
The Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) allocates a certain portion of its annual program budget to fund discretionary projects or ‘mini-grants.’ Discretionary funding is designed to be responsive to low-cost prevention projects or needs identified by individual communities, organizations or agencies. A maximum of $5,000 per grant award is available for discretionary projects. Grants are for one year and are not renewable. Grants must be used for primary or secondary child abuse and neglect prevention.
Prevention programs and activities may have a broad range and include public awareness or educational campaigns that target services such as parent skills training; skills based curricula for children; mentoring programs; home visitation; and other family support programs. Projects might include start-up costs for parent education and support, parent leadership, parent cafes, strengthening families through protective factors, fatherhood support, crisis nursery, prevention educational materials, community awareness, training ie: Strengthening Families Protective Factors, Stewards of Children, ACES, etc.
