Text4Baby Customized for Missouri

On May 26, 2011, Missouri became the first state to implement a Missouri Customized Text4baby Program. Text4baby is a free mobile information service that provides timely maternal and child health text messages to pregnant women and new moms from pregnancy through the baby’s first year. The messages that are now delivered to women who have enrolled from Missouri are customized to include Missouri-specific telephone numbers, thus providing for easier access to services. Women can sign up for the service by texting BABY to the 511411 telephone number (or BEBE for Spanish). Messages focus on critical health topics including birth defects prevention, immunizations, mental health, child care, and other resources.
